Soroptimist Club of Kuwait, Kuwait
In the frame of the OrangeQ8 campaign, the Soroptimists have joined forces to raise awareness about safety and well-being of women in Kuwait. They did it by highlighting the challenges and advocating for the implementation of preventive and protective measures.
The 2019 campaign relied on virtual and live outreach that was focused around the 25th of every month. The Campaign’s logo was featured and used in different forms for outreach and promotion purposes, along with the hashtags #موعادي and #NotOK. A brochure was introduced the campaign and explained its cause.
The campaign also included conducting a survey that is directed to the general public, and through which the team aims to collect data to support the campaign’s advocacy objectives regarding the elimination of discriminatory laws and legislation not in favor of women in Kuwait. The Soroptimists in Kuwait are engaged to push for better governmental efforts for the protection of women from violence and abuse.
The results of these projects were quite positive:
- The Soroptimists produced greater brand recognition with our OrangeQ8 campaign,
- Creation of communication tools: orange flags, medallions, and club members were wearing orange on the 25th of every month,
- The Soroptimists have enabled women and girls who have experienced violence or discrimination to speak up more freely about it
