Soroptimist International Region of New South Wales Incorporated is offering a Grant of Friendship to a Soroptimist who speaks English travelling alone; or 2 Soroptimists travelling together; or a Soroptimist travelling with a husband/partner for the period 1 October 2018 through to 21 October 2018. This will commence and coincide with the floriade festival (http://www.floriadeaustralia.com) held in Canberra. The Region of New South Wales comprises 13 clubs located mainly in Sydney but also includes Canberra, the national capital, Goulburn a significant fine wool merino town, Lightning Ridge, the home of the ‘black’ opals, 3 clubs in the Riverina and Brisbane Water on the central coast, north of Sydney.
The Grant of Friendship includes travel and accommodation within the Region for the duration of the grant. The recipient(s) will be responsible for visa costs, travel insurance and travel to and from the region. The recipient(s) are to arrive in Canberra, Australia on 1st October 2018 and to finish in Sydney, Australia on 21st October 2018. The recipient(s) will also be responsible for all medical expenses that may be incurred by them. We also maintain a no smoking policy in our hosts’ homes and expect all recipient(s) to be able to move independently and able to handle their own luggage without assistance. All meals and accommodation, hospitality and transport between clubs within the region will be provided by Soroptimists from our Region.
The recipient(s) will be required to share their soroptimist experiences with the clubs in our Region, formally and informally for the period of their stay. Preference will be given to those who have not already received a Grant of Friendship. Applications will be accepted from members living outside Australia.
